EMN Sweden Team pleased to invite you to the EMN Swedish Presidency Conference on the topic of displacement and migration related to climate change. The conference is scheduled to take place on 11 (full day) and 12 (half day) of May 2023 in Stockholm.
How are countries currently addressing the effects of climate change and displacement? What analytical tools and methods could be created, or improved, to better predict climate-related migration? How can we ensure that different policy areas and academic fields that are involved with climate change, displacement and migration come together to form a comprehensive response?
These are some of the questions that the conference will be discussing with experts from the field in interactive panel discussions, combining perspectives from EU institutions, international organisations, national governments, academia and non-governmental organisations from different regions of the world. The aim of the conference is to get a better understanding of future challenges as well as to explore strategies and innovative approaches that may contribute to addressing future displacement.
Key speakers who will be presenting include:
- Ylva Johansson, European Commissioner for Home Affairs (TBC)
- Mikael Ribbenvik, Director General of the Swedish Migration Agency
- Koko Warner, Director of the Global Data Institute, IOM
